During this week we had to find artists who were taking certain poses and write about the purpose of the pose and what it could mean. for example i found artists who were in pictures with their sunglasses, and i said that wearing sunglasses could have multiple meanings, it could be an element of style or a way to hide yourself.
example 2 - raised arms pose. i found a number of artists who were taking their photos with their arms raised up in the air, this could mean that the person is trying to hype up a crowd or that they are just happy.

During this week we thought of a genre (music) and make a magazine for it .and make it visually engaging, we had to include a -
definition- a brief overview on what defines the genre. history/origins - a timeline of where the genre came from. greatest albums- a visual display of each album cover. icons- a visual display of the most successful/ well known artist. styling- a brief breakdown of the music style. During this week we found out the differences between digital and print magazines.
digital magazines - is a magazine which is accessible through the internet. print magazines- a publication, usually a periodical publication which is printed. we also looked at the distribution between the two types of magazines, the costs of the two, the limitations and the technical requirements of the magazines based on the target audience. During this week we gathered 4 magazines, two single paged magazines and two double paged magazines. for each magazine we wrote about the denotations of the magazines ( the literal or primary meaning of a word. mise- en-scene ( the surroundings of the magazine, NVC, PROPS, COSTUMES, LIGHTING, CAMERA) . we looked at the typography within the magazine and what it creates and what it would mean and we looked at the target audience which could be adults or teenagers or kids or old people.
During this week we picked two magazine covers and analysed them, we labelled each major magazine piece which is used in every magazine
for example (by line, masthead logo, subject name, image, stand first etc) we also said what each of these pieces do for the magazine, wether they make a sharp description or if they make the magazine stand out. |
