video editing techniques and its purpose

at the start of the scene we see a decent amount of quick cuts - this helps us understand what's happening and how it is happening. we also see long takes - this is helpful as it lets the viewers see what is happening at a certain scene before it cuts transacts into another scene.we also see a reaction shot allows us to see the characters reactions once they have met with other subjects within the scene. this is good as it shows us if the character is or isn't expecting whatever he has come across within the scene .
